This policy explains how Protop.in handles information when you visit our website or use its tools. Contact us at info@protop.in with privacy questions.
1. Files you select
The available image tools, image-to-PDF, PDF merge, PDF page extraction and text tools process file contents locally in your browser. We do not upload those files to a Protop server. Closing or resetting the tool releases its working references; downloaded files remain on your device until you delete them. Your browser or operating system may keep its own temporary data.
2. Information from visits
Our hosting provider may process technical information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, timestamps and security events to deliver and protect the website. We do not use those logs to build advertising profiles. Hosting infrastructure may retain technical logs under its own operational policies. Do not put confidential information in page URLs.
3. Accounts, cookies and analytics
Protop does not require a visitor account. This version does not install advertising tags, analytics trackers or marketing cookies. Hosting access or security systems may use necessary cookies. If advertising, analytics or new server processing is introduced, we will update this notice and request consent where required before activating optional tracking.
4. Links and social tools
Document conversion and social download services are not connected in this version. Link validation on social pages happens locally and does not fetch media. Opening an external website sends a request to that website, whose policies then apply. We are not affiliated with YouTube, Google, Instagram or Meta.
5. Messages you send us
If you email us, your email provider and ours process that correspondence. We use the details you provide to answer your request, investigate problems and maintain necessary business records. Avoid attaching sensitive files unless necessary. You may ask us to delete correspondence we no longer need, subject to applicable retention obligations.
6. Sharing and safeguards
We do not sell your selected files or contact details. Information may be processed by service providers involved in hosting, security or email, or disclosed when required by law. We use reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee that any online service is entirely secure.
7. Your choices
You can stop processing by closing or resetting the page, control cookies in your browser, and contact us to ask about access, correction or deletion of personal information we hold. Your rights depend on applicable law. We may need to verify a request before acting.
8. Weather and HEIC conversion
When you request a weather report, Protop sends the selected city’s coordinates or your device’s coordinates rounded to two decimal places to MET Norway. Your browser asks before sharing your device location. Protop temporarily caches forecasts by approximate location, and request URLs may appear in hosting logs. City search terms may appear in hosting logs. Saved cities stay in your browser’s local storage. Some browsers load a HEIC decoder from Cloudflare CDN when needed. Kannada and mixed-language OCR may download language models from a content delivery network. Your selected files are processed in the browser.
9. Children and changes
Protop is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or guardian may contact us about information submitted by a child. We will publish policy updates here with a revised date. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
